X-ray Microtomography
Our desk-top X-ray micro-CT systems (Phoenix and Skyscan) collect multiple X-ray transmission images from different angular views, from which cross sections of the sample are reconstructed to provide a full 3D internal microstructure and density map of materials with a resolution up down to sub micron. This can provide information about your materials that was previously immeasurable non-destructively.
The range and variety of applications are rapidly growing and we have practical experience of measuring:
- Agglomerates (particle and pore shape and size)
- Aggregates (particle and pore shape and size)
- Settled solids (sediment beds etc)
- Particle shapes (food, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals etc)
- Pharmaceutical (identification of different constituents, tablet dissolution)
- Materials (flaw and impurity detection)
... for a range of industries including pharmaceutical drug development and manufacture, biomedical research, material science, dental research, electronic components, geology, zoology, botany, building materials, paper manufacture .............. and the list goes on.
